As we work to develop our landscape, it continues to teach me.
There is an area where the old fence line  stood that is now open to the woods and, though we placed a wire fence further in and out of sight, this new area needs cultivation for grass to grow and mature into its shady boundary.
My husband, “the Grass Master” has taken specific care to select the right seed, apply starter and add a layer of straw to protect it; not to mention adding a temporary fence to keep our dogs from trampling the new seed. He has been methodical and careful to care for the seed. After all, this adds to our vision for the yard.
How like the kindness of God to new believers, whose faith need nurturing.  We are called helpers and cultivators to apply instruction from God’s word through wisdom granted us as followers. Along the way, we are being used like a starter to encourage new growth in others. What a beautiful reminder!
Often, obstructions have to be cleared away for us to have fresh vision for the mission of health and restoration that we are called, which renews our hope and refreshes the view.
Isaiah captured this expression of his hope for the restoration of Israel in the wilderness of their lives.
Isaiah 43:19. Likewise, may we be encouraged in our own!
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
    now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
    and rivers in the desert!
