Ward Farrior
LCSWA (Jacksonville, Wilmington, & Telehealth)
I believe there’s nothing too big or too small to bring up in therapy. It’s a space to explore the hidden parts of life that have been tucked away and begin to find clarity, healing, and peace. I have a heart for individuals and couples navigating stress, grief, anxiety, depression, or relational conflict, and I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel understood and met with genuine curiosity.
My work is deeply relational and faith-based, grounded in a grace-filled view of God and people rather than a religious or legalistic one. I help clients strengthen and repair connections—whether that’s in marriage, family relationships, friendships, or their relationship with God and self. Many of my sessions focus on couples and marriages, including pre-marital counseling, parenting challenges, and family conflict. I often incorporate principles from the Gottman Method to help partners improve communication, rebuild trust, and deepen emotional intimacy. My clients appreciate my direct yet compassionate approach; I’m not afraid to ask challenging questions, hold you accountable to your goals, and encourage growth toward your best self.
I approach therapy with both logic and creativity—helping clients think deeply about their beliefs, assumptions, and patterns while introducing new ways of understanding themselves and others. My goal is to help you see your situation from fresh perspectives that spark insight and meaningful change. I also value the development of personal leadership—the ability to steward one’s life with wisdom, integrity, and compassion. My approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relational Therapy, and Solution-Oriented Therapy, all framed within a person-centered perspective where you are the expert on your life, and I serve as a guide and source of nonjudgmental support.
I have served in church leadership in Southeastern North Carolina for over a decade and have been shaped by experiences in ministry, missions, and counseling. After earning my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Simpson University in Northern California and serving internationally, I completed my Master’s in Social Work at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA). I’m passionate about integrating faith and clinical practice to help clients grow through life’s challenges, strengthen their relationships, and trust that God’s grace and goodness are at work in their story.
