Family Counseling
Why Family Counseling?
Families are building blocks for generations. Healthy generations produce successful societies. Successful Societies shape our world. In every way, the family is a link to our past and hope for our future.
Whether your family has two people or twenty, we believe it is the nucleus where life happens. It is the center for nurturing, learning, dreaming, and moving forward. It is a point or place in our life that we return to understand ourselves better.
Our staff is committed to you and your family. We understand that our timelines often become curvy with conflict. We experience life transitions like going to college, and a divorce that leads to broken or blended families. We experience a significant fear or trauma from an unexpected event.
For a woman, perhaps family planning hit a roadblock with unexpected perinatal or postpartum depression. Her thoughts and emotions are being hijacked by parenting adjustments, sleep transitions, and body changes that occurred during pregnancy. This can be a tough family adjustment period.
Let’s start a conversation about these family challenges. Let’s take a look at some parenting strategies, talk through the loss of a child or miscarriage, explore ways of self-care, discuss what to do with an aging parent, and strategize how to help children who have emotional or behavioral needs, ADHD, other educational supports, understanding Autism or how to deal with teen rebellion.
I am convinced that if we as a society work diligently in every other area of life, yet neglect the family, it is analagous to straightening the deck chairs on the Titanic…. Steven Covey
