Choose Better

My email inbox is lit up with flags that alert me to a response needed. But I am fighting my Amygdala trying to hijack my need for peace today, while remaining aware of my choice to disarm it and settle the anxiety.

Our thought processes matter and counselors will appreciate my battle strategy against becoming amped; as I cradle these neuroscience steps to success. But this morning, I am further along in the battle, choosing instead to  follow the lead from the Holy Spirit.
His wisdom is captured  in Romans 8:6 “For the mind controlled by the flesh is death but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.”
Do we pause to consider our own thought patterns? Are they leading us to peace or destruction? And, do we anchor them to grace filled, life-giving responses to refocus and diffuse the enemy’s attack to interrupt the day? Such simple choices open doors of healing our anxieties.

Because choices matter, don’t they? And, choosing well reveals transformation and victory over the fight!
  Romans 12:2 reassures this.
“Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
May we all be transformed by this truth today.
