A Little Pruning Never Hurts

June 10, 2026

Summer arrives early in SE North Carolina! With it comes lessons from the garden!

I’ve been in a process, lately, of asking the Lord to do some pruning in my life.
It’s strange timing because we are in a season of blessing. We are overwhelmed by God’s goodness and humbled by all He is doing.
Yet, I’ve struggled with anxious thoughts. I’ve awakened burdened, troubled and weighed down. Have you ever felt this way?
In the midst of this dance, God has been challenging me to a deeper prayer life. To cut away the tendency to take charge, figure out the plan or to make things happen. He has woo’d me gently saying, do you trust Me? Do you believe I have good plans for you? Do you really? Then, PRAY… rely on Me. I will lead you.
These questions have driven me, as I hope they will drive you, to remember who God is and that He has never intended us to walk one step alone.

John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Philippians 4:6 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by PRAYER…”
Psalms 5:3 “… each morning I bring my requests to You and WAIT expectantly.”
Colossians 4:2 “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”
