The power of words, a single word, a single statement, a text message, an email, a verbal expression! Amazingly beautiful when the message is the right one sent at the exact right time!

In this season of intention, words are hitting me hard! In both good, and not so good ways. Choosing the right words, a key essential to how they land on self and others.

In my work with clients, we go through a process of noticing negative cognitions, as well as recognizing the emotion that comes along with the thought. We then further assess where the feeling lands in the body. Many times it’s a chest, heart, core, or throat feeling. Resonating into anxiety, fear, despair, and anger. I oftentimes hear harmful words from people‘s childhoods, repeated long enough to have a negative impact on their developing minds. These words land in the body and become branded into one’s soul, many times manifesting into physical symptoms like depression, anxiety, and self-harm to name a few.

On the contrary, I also hear positive words that culminate into positive cognitions that allow for clients to feel empowered, heard, felt, comforted, and valued. These feelings too have the potential to be branded into the soul:) So, if you find yourself in a season of feeling down or not yourself, lean into your own negative cognition and emotion, and flip it upside down on itself to allow for your positive cognition to ring louder than the negative one. Store these positive cognitions and emotions in an imaginary locket or a wristwatch and wear them throughout your day. You’d be amazed how this can help. God has the power to heal us from all our past hurts and hang-ups, let him lead you by tapping into your locket or wristwatch to speak kind words to yourself and to others.

He calls us to look to his Word for edification, sanctification, and truth.

As I meditate on his Word lately, I hear and know that he’s doing something amazing in this season for me. I hope you can meditate on his Word just the same.

Diving into his Word and seeking the positive affirmations he has for you go a long way. He wishes nothing but the best for us, block the negative and let his Holy Spirit fill you with His Truth!

May this message bring you joy, and peace.

Reminder, kindness goes a long way my friends. May God‘s kindness fill you today!

Peace, love, blessings, and many heart hugs!!
