Nicole Murray is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate. She received a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Nicole approaches treatment from a strengths-based and client-centered perspective. Nicole is very passionate about helping others identify their strengths so that they can tackle life’s stressors in a healthy way.
Nicole has spent the bulk of her career helping children and their families dealing with a broad range of issues, such as trauma, parenting, anxiety and depression, substance abuse, and relationship conflict. As a therapist, Nicole has worked in an outpatient setting as a group facilitator and one-on-one with people struggling with addiction and mental health issues at Coastal Horizons Center.
She enjoys working with children, teenagers, adults, families, groups, and couples. Nicole utilizes an array of therapeutic interventions to treat one’s specific needs. Some of her interventions include behavior modification, person centered therapy, solution focused therapy, trauma focused-cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT), role modeling, social skills training, and rational emotive therapy.
Nicole is a certified in trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy which is treatment program intended to help children and their families deal with the aftermath of a traumatic experience by using a trauma-sensitive approach.
Whether working individuals, couples, or groups, Nicole approach each person with eyes of compassion and hope. Nicole’s overall mission is to create a nonjudgmental atmosphere in which every person she encounters feels comfortable and safe as they embark on a new journey together. Nicole offers evening and Saturday hours only.
