Lauren Hill


Lauren Hill is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate. She received a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Lauren has a passion for helping those who struggle with eating disorders and body image concerns.  She focuses on helping clients make peace with food and their bodies, break the cycle of yo-yo dieting and self-hate, and develop unconditional self-love and acceptance.  She is a firm believer in the Health at Every Size approach and believes that clients can find peace and contentment with themselves, no matter what the number on the scale says.  She also has training and experience in the areas of addiction and recovery, depression, anxiety, perinatal mood disorders, and treating those who have experienced trauma.  Since moving back to Wilmington, Lauren has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  Most recently, she worked with Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. as a group facilitator and individual counselor for people struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health issues.  Born and raised in Wilmington, Lauren has a heart for the Wilmington community and for using her skills and training to act as a catalyst for healing.  She also has a passion for advocacy and educating the community about eating disorders, addiction, and other mental health issues.  In her own recovery journey, Lauren’s faith in Christ has been a guiding and transformative force that has led her to overcome many challenges.   Whether working with an individual, couple, or family, Lauren believes in a holistic approach to counseling and integrates the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of the self into the counseling process.
