Anka Roberto

DNP, MPH, PMHNP-BC, APRN

Anka is a national board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) trained in Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR) and other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills (DBT), and a licensed RN and APRN in the states of North Carolina and Connecticut. She received her doctoral degree in nursing practice from Fairfield University in Connecticut in 2016 and has provided EMDR based sand tray therapy with children and various EMDR protocols to target and reprocess negative life experiences. Doing so offers relief of trauma-related symptoms such as anxiety, depression, sleep issues, and harmful coping mechanisms. With over 20 years of experience as a registered nurse (RN) working with children with special needs, Anka enjoys working with young children and adults alike.  She sees resilience in each client and aims to foster that as she guides them on their healing journey. She aligns with her clients and works to provide a foundation of goal setting to guide treatment. Dr. Roberto is also an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, authored book chapters, and has numerous publications on trauma and resilience. She seeks to help you find Joy among the hardship of your struggles. Through the use of her therapeutic presence, her clinical skills, and her faith, she has helped many clients restore their lives.
