Troy Peverall LPC, LCAS, CCS

Troy is the founder of Agape Counseling Services PLLC. His gentle relational approach towards his clients helps to ease the awkwardness of the counseling process. His experience is broad including work within the Criminal Justice System,
Psychiatric Inpatient Hospitals , recovery homes and fifteen years of church ministry to families and students. His therapeutic foundation is highlighted by his strong desire to provide help for people who seek answers for their hurts and to provide hope to otherwise "hopeless" situations.

Michelle Garbade, M.Ed.

Michelle has a Masters of Education in Counselor Education and has completed her licensure as an LPC in the state of North Carolina. She began her career as a counselor in a public school environment. She now enjoys private practice and working with adults and teens who struggle with depression, anxiety and stress.  Other interests include healing from childhood wounds, attachment related issues and marriage counseling.  Michelle has a genuine compassion for people who are struggling or hurting as a result of life and living. Her approach is integrative, drawing from several perspectives including cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic (renewing the mind in truth and healing as a journey).  She believes in a comprehensive approach to assessment and counseling where truth and insight are discovered and healing can be found within the context of a safe and caring relationship.

Jeremy Seamon, MA

Jeremy has a Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy.  He is currently pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor and as a Licensed Clinical Additions Specialist in the state of North Carolina.  Jeremy brings to Agape his experience in working with families as he began his career as a youth and children's pastor in Hampstead and Wilmington.  He now enjoys serving adults with severe mental illness in the local day treatment program.  Jeremy has a heart for restoration and wholeness in lives and families. Jeremy is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator.  Prepare/Enrich is used for premarital preparation and marriage enrichment, and includes a comprehensive couple assessment along with feedback using skills building exercises. His counseling focus includes solution focused brief therapy as well as cognitive behavioral therapy to aid in the restoration process. However, he believes that counseling is like life, it is a journey . . . "you ought to be enjoying it!"

Jerry Smith, LPC, LCAS, MAC, CSI

Jerry obtained a Master of Art's Degree in Community Counseling from Campbell University in December 2002 and has completed academic coursework for a Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D) at the University of the Rockies. Presently, he is in the dissertation phase of the program and working toward becoming a licensed clinical psychologist. Jerry has more than nine years of direct experience as counselor with adolescent, adult, group, and family populations while working in the chemical dependency, school system, and residential treatment center environments.  His approach to counseling is best described as one that is spiritually grounded with a strength based and family systems orientation. Jerry believes that people are capable of reaching their best potential given adequate support and tools for change. The goals and techniques will be based on each client individually according to their specific reasons for entering into counseling. Jerry utilizes cognitive-behavioral and reality therapy techniques while working with children, adults, and families.

Maggie McLamb, M.A., LPC, NCC

Maggie is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in counseling. Maggie has a genuine desire to help to those who are struggling in life. She uses a comprehensive approach to therapy where truth and insight are discovered in the context of a safe and caring relationship. She focuses on helping her clients with their journey to make positive and permanent changes in their lives in order to achieve health and healing. Maggie strives to help her clients realize their strengths and accomplish their goals.

In addition to her private practice, Maggie teaches classes on the Heart and Mind Connection, a program she developed to help heart patients learn to deal with the depression, anxiety, stress and the sense of loss that often accompanies a heart event.
